The N4956A is an affordable and compact error detector remote head that is compatible with the N4965A Serial BERT controller. The N4956A is an ideal solution to test up to 12.5 Gb/s per channel for characterizing multi-lane serial data channels. The N4956A error detector supports PRBS patterns and operates up to 12.5 Gb/s with differential or single-ended connections. The remote head allows the test equipment to be located very close to the device under test, eliminating the need for long cables that degrade signal quality.
